I’m really sick and I have been for the past three days. My macrophages are being overwhelmed, and it seems that my Classical AND Alternate cascades are not functioning at their optimum levels. Yes, being sick sucks.
But the good news is that The Chargers are in first place and pending a win today against the Chiefs, will remain there for another gabillion years.
Being sick and in bed gives me time to catch up on what’s been going on around the world, and after much consideration, I’ve determined that there are TWO things that are a waste of time [...]
It has been announced that U2 will be playing the opening night of the Glastonbury Festival on June 25, 2010.
Last year’s headliners included another favorite here at TheFrontloader.com, Bruce Springsteen, as well as Neil Young and Blur.
From U2.com:
“The band are due to play the opening night of the 40th Glastonbury Festival on June 25. It will be the only date the band play in the UK and Ireland next year. ‘The band is really looking forward to it’ Paul McGuinness tells us. [...]
In case you missed the live stream of U2’s sold-out concert at the Pasadena Rose Bowl on Sunday night, you can still watch this incredible show via the video below.
U2 opened the set with “Breathe” off their latest album, No Line On The Horizon, and rocked the crap out of that place for a solid 2+ hours, playing everything from the classics to songs off their latest release.
This YouTube stream was the first time a concert of this size (96,000+ people!!!) was streamed live, and from all accounts, it was unquestionably a success. [...]

Lately I’ve been on this huge Joshua Tree trip… I have the disc playing in my car, my iPod, even in my head when I’m supposed to be studying.
Well, today I came across a live recording of a song off the album, “Exit.” I was so excited to play it because A) I didn’t even realize I had it and B) I frakkin’ LOVE the song.
When I took a listen, though… YIKES. It was awful. I don’t think I’ve ever heard Bono sound THIS bad since the early days of U2… I mean, this is even worse than [...]
U2 premiered the video for their second single, “Magnificent”, on the band’s official site yesterday, and now we’ve got the video right here for you to check out as well. The video was shot in Fes, Morocco and was directed by Alex Courtes.
Earlier this week U2 posted a behind the scenes video set to the album cut of “Magnificent”. You can check that video out here. The new single includes remixes of the song done by Pete Tong, Redanka, Fred Falke, and Adam K and Soha. [...]

The other day I came across a couple new remixes that piqued my interest… a remix of “Magificent” off U2’s new No Line on the Horizon album, and a remix of “Let Love Rule (2009)” off Lenny Kravitz’ breakthrough album Let Love Rule, which has a 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition coming out on May 19th. You can learn all the details about that release here.
Anyway, I’ve included those two remixes as well as an interesting selection of some other songs that have gotten the remix treatment for you today [...]

I’ve made it no secret that I’m not a huge fan of U2’s “Get On Your Boots.” I didn’t think it was the best choice as the lead off single for their No Line on the Horizon album, and I still adhere to that opinion. Although the song has a nice tempo and beat, the lyrics don’t do much for me … and I gotta say that Bono’s lyrics are usually the main part of the song that I latch on to.
With lines like “Hey, sexy boots / Get on your boots, yeah,” I find it difficult to take them seriously. Maybe that’s the part [...]
It has been about a month or so since my last Listen to THIS, Bitches! article. The reason for this is because I have been traipsing around the world with my good friend, Bono of U2.
He kept calling me up at the start of 2009, asking for advice regarding U2’s newest offering, No Line on the Horizon… and when I say [...]
I know that I’ve been writing a LOT about U2, but seeing as they are my all-time favorite band, they are always worth writing about. Besides, they have been all OVER the place lately… it’s hard to ignore U2 news.
Their latest album, No Line on the Horizon, is definitely growing on me. I’ll admit that when the first single, “Get On Your Boots,” hit the airwaves, I wasn’t quite as enthusiastic as I had hoped to be. Then when the video was debuted, I was… well [...]
Billboard.com revealed yesterday that beginning June 30th, in support of their No Line on the Horizon album, U2 will play stadiums worldwide on their “Kiss The Future” tour.
Billboard describes the tour as a groundbreaking tour with production that includes a 360-degree audience configuration, ambitious staging and a cylindrical video screen. The Edge tells Billboard, “It’s an album that I think [...]
