I’m pretty sure all of you have heard “Personal Jesus”, and if you haven’t, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? “Personal Jesus” was released on August 29, 1989, and was the first single from Depeche Mode’s Violator album. According Wikipedia, the song reached #13 on the UK Singles Chart, #28 on the Billboard Hot 100, and in 2004 was ranked #368 in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
Oh, and Hilary Duff totally ripped it off.
Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore explained the song in a 1990 Spin article as “a song about being a Jesus for somebody else, someone to give you hope and care. It’s about how [...]
Yesterday Depeche Mode unveiled the music video for “Hole to Feed”, the third single off their Sounds of the Universe album.
I’ve watched the video a few times now, and I can honestly say that I think music videos are getting weirder and weirder. The “WTF?” factor in this video increases with every second… in end it I have to realize that it held my attention, but is that because of the video or because of the song? Or maybe it’s because I have a strange fetish of [...]

Twittering has become an interesting daily experience for me. The more I check in there, the more I find that there are so many great people, great sites, and great networks available for people to connect with each other. There are times when I find it a bit overwhelming, and at times I find it a mess, but for the most part its simplicity is its strength.
When I first came across Twitter, I thought it was just the same as Facebook’s “wall” section… until I realized [...]

The other day I came across a couple new remixes that piqued my interest… a remix of “Magificent” off U2’s new No Line on the Horizon album, and a remix of “Let Love Rule (2009)” off Lenny Kravitz’ breakthrough album Let Love Rule, which has a 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition coming out on May 19th. You can learn all the details about that release here.
Anyway, I’ve included those two remixes as well as an interesting selection of some other songs that have gotten the remix treatment for you today [...]

It’s no secret here at TheFrontloader.com that I’m a huge fan of Depeche Mode. So, it will come as no surprise to you that I’m quite excited about today’s release of their new album, Sounds of the Universe.
I am so excited, in fact, that I wanted to buy out the entire stock at our local Best Buy, Target, and WalMart stores and drop them in a sea of CDs from the top of some really tall building onto unsuspecting victims fans. Unfortunately, I was unable to do so because of zoning protocols, BUT [...]
