2993 people died 9/11/2001.
It’s been eight years since that awful day, and I still remember where I was, what I was doing, what I was wearing, and even how I was sitting when I heard the news of the attacks. I must say that Sept. 11, 2001 was one of the worst days of my life, and in all reality, nothing happened to me.
Yet anytime I think about my “worst days,” that day seems to pop up in the top 10.
I hope we never forget. [...]

As you all know, one of the most popular music festivals out there, Bonnaroo 2009, kicks off today in Manchester, Tennessee… I think I read that almost 80,000 people are expected to attend. Wow. Around 150 acts will grace the various stages and cafes over the next few days, including some of my absolute favorites (Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Nine Inch Nails, Wilco… just to name a few).
If you’re like me, you’re sitting at home studying about phospholipids, just wishing you were able to make the trek down to Tennessee to partake in the festivities. And even though that’s obviously not the case for me since I’m [...]

Well, classes have resumed again for me. I’m taking summer classes now, which are far more intense than the regular semester courses. Professors have found a way to cram a semester’s worth of material into seven weeks. That’s pretty awesome, especially because seven weeks is a pretty damn short time. Yep. I’m gonna have a grand time keeping up with Mr. Psycho professor who things we’re not humans, we’re frikkin’ flash drives.
I realize that I haven’t posted anything here lately, and for that I can only say that I decided to take some time off before classes started up again. Don’t worry, though [...]

Twittering has become an interesting daily experience for me. The more I check in there, the more I find that there are so many great people, great sites, and great networks available for people to connect with each other. There are times when I find it a bit overwhelming, and at times I find it a mess, but for the most part its simplicity is its strength.
When I first came across Twitter, I thought it was just the same as Facebook’s “wall” section… until I realized [...]

2009 Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles is the latest artist to participate in the Hangin’ on E Street series, where artists influenced by Bruce Springsteen sit down to share how they’ve been influenced by him. Check out the video of Bareilles covering Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire” below. To watch video of her sharing her thoughts on and introduction to Springsteen’s music, visit Bruce’s site, where you can also watch interviews and performances from past participants.
“I’m on Fire” was the fourth single off of Bruce Springsteen’s “Mega-Star-Making” album Born in the U.S.A. It was released in 1985 and climbed all the way up to number six in the Billboard Hot 100 pop charts. [...]

Sometime late last year I did a fake concert bootleg for Mr. Bruce Springsteen… well, I guess I’m pretty excited about his new tour (even though I won’t make any of the shows because nobody invited me) because I decided to make a second fake concert bootleg.
These selections are all taken from his acoustic performances… sorry, but no full band tracks here. You’re probably asking yourself, “Why? Why would you do that, Swap?” And the answer is simple: Because My Momma Said So. [...]
