I know that I feature The Black Crowes a LOT on this site, but seeing as they’re on of the greatest bands ever to be assembled, it makes perfect sense to do so. They’re one of those bands that always seems to end up on a “sounds like” ad for a band. You know the kind of ads I’m talking about…
Yes, anytime you see the word “Crowes,” it’s referring to The Black Crowes and nobody else. They even have their own music style: Crowes music. [...]

I enjoyed making the “Fake Concert Bootleg” so much for Bruce Springsteen the other week that I decided to do the same for The Black Crowes.
I guess these fake bootlegs are a sort of a “mix tape” for live bootlegs. There’s no science to this… I just look through my live material and pick some of the songs that I would love to hear if I saw the band live. Fortunately for me, I’ve seen the Crowes live quite a few times, and have had the luck to hear most all of the songs I’ve wanted to hear done live. They always put on a great show, and I sincerely hope they continue to tour for decades. [...]
I have a stack of Cds in my car that have no labels on them. They might as well be blank Cds as far as I can tell… but the other day I happened to grab one out of curiosity, and man alive am I glad I did. The disc was full of live Black Crowes… VERY cool. I totally forgot I had this collection, so I was extra extra crispy when a live acoustic performance of “Remedy” came on.
I pulled a Scooby-Doo and said, “Raggy?” to nobody when I heard Chris Robinson introduce the song, then [...]
I remember sitting around with some band members way back in 1999… we were all huge fans of The Black Crowes, and couldn’t wait to hear their fifth studio album, By Your Side. We all picked up the record on it’s release day, but decided to listen to it together in order [...]
If you know a performer, you’ve probably heard this before… you’ve probably heard about the rush of being on stage… you’ve most likely been told about the exhilaration of applause, the addiction of that certain connection you feel with the audience… and you’ve undoubtedly sat through the conversation about how, if they could, [...]
Every now and then I get on a Black Crowes kick and I have to play all their songs in a row. I just set my iPod to “All songs” for the Crowes and let it go… well, seeing as I’ve not only got all their albums, but a BUNCH of bootlegs, you can imagine how long it’d take the iPod to get through the entire playlist.
I kept going back to this live performance of “Midnight From the Inside Out,” though. [...]
As promised, here is the second half of the outtakes from The Black Crowes’ album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion.
Like I said in the first half of this post, some of the differences are quite subtle, as you’ve probably already noticed… a different guitar lick here, a different solo there, maybe a [...]
There’s no argument: The Black Crowes are one of the greatest Rock n’ Roll bands ever. E-V-E-R.
If you disagree with me, then here is a three-step process in filing your grievance:
1. Go to your local City Hall and pick up form 1645-4A (make sure it’s an “A” form. Forms with no [...]
