ABOUT THEFRONTLOADER.COM
What is TheFrontloader.com?
TheFrontloader.com is a music site featuring mp3 samples, reviews, interviews, and music related news. This site taps the gap between rock, folk, country, Americana, funk, blues, soul, and anything and everything found in the middle.
TheFrontloader.com started as a photo blog of sorts by Swapmeet Louie, documenting his experiences as a touring keyboardist from 2005-2008. The blog evolved into what you see before you and continues to grow as Swap’s interests expand.
Recurring features include: Sherman Says, “Listen to THIS, Bitches!”, Frank “The Tank” Hippo segments, This Week’s Top 5 Most Played Songs From Swap’s iTunes, and exclusive interviews and recording sessions for TheFrontloader.com.
Who is Swapmeet Louie?
Chances are, you’ve already seen him on television. Chances are, you’ve seen him perform his own brand of stand-up on his HBO, Showtime, and Comedy Central specials. Chances are, you’ve seen him host Saturday Night Live (musical guest was U2). He’s been the Master of Ceremonies for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade countless times, has performed at the Super Bowl halftime show, been a guest host on The Tonight Show, and he has won a million dollars TWICE on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
Chances are, you’ve read his award-winning cookbooks on Jambalaya, you’ve seen him act on the big screen in movies like C.H.U.D, Shrek, and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. He’s scored a dozen #1 hits on country radio, has been an awards presenter at the Golden Globes, and has even taught Elmo all about the weather on Sesame Street.
Chances are you’ve even been cut off by him on the interstate.
There’s a bigger chance, though, that you haven’t seen him anywhere because frankly, he’s done none of those things (except maybe the cutting you off on the interstate).
Swapmeet Louie is just a humble music lover. He started this site to share the music he loves, and hopefully spread the word about some talented artists that don’t get the coverage they deserve.
Swap’s no stranger to the stage, though. He’s been playing to audiences for most of his life, but also has television, studio, video, and radio experience under his belt.
Mr. Louie has written, recorded, and released his own albums, most notably that of The Downtown Moneywasters. You can check out his music in the store.
Yes, when it comes down to it, Ol’ Swap is a music lover just like you. So go on and enjoy the fruits of his labor. TheFrontloader.com was created just for you, and he hopes to see you around here, leaving comments and making him feel good about himself.
All he asks for is money. A crapload of it. A whole LOT of crapload of it. But if that’s not possible, then a few million handfuls will do (tens and twenties, please).
Subscribe to stay updated! And be sure to post a comment every now and then. Swap loves them comments… but make sure they’re not all sunshine and rainbows or else his head will get so big his mother won’t even recognize him.
You can keep the music flowing here by helping him maintain this site. Click the “Donate” button to the right. All donations are greatly appreciated and will be used to upgrade and expand TheFrontloader.com. Thank you so much for your support!
“So much music… so little time…”
Contributing Writers
“Bearing witness to the evolution of Rock ‘n’ Roll was something I will never forget,” says Sherman Bear. “I remember sitting in Elvis’ living room, trying to convince him that he should ditch the Broadway scene and sing Rhythm and Blues. After about twenty shots of whiskey, he said he would try it at his next audition. And that, as they say, is history.”
Sherman has been a private consultant many artists we now consider legends: Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Robert Plant, Axl Rose and the original members of Guns n’ Roses, Ozzy Osborne, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, and even the King himself, Elvis Presley.
He lives a secluded life, away from the red carpet, but is never but a phone call away from lending his brilliant insight to many of the fine artists you hear on the radio.
TheFrontloader.com is extremely fortunate to have Sherman as a contributing writer. His column, “Sherman Says, ‘Listen to THIS, Bitches!’” has been wildly popular within the music underground, and can now be enjoyed right here on this site. Be sure to keep up with all things Sherman through his “Sherman’s Box O’ Chocolates” column as well.
Sherman is all-wise and all-knowing, and has impeccable taste when it comes to music. His knowledge is vast, his knowledge is awesome, and his knowledge is absolute.
