It’s hard to believe that Aerosmith is in their 40th year of rockin’ our faces off. When I think of Aerosmith, I think of my younger days… I think of hanging out with my buddies at a 48-hour BBQ, burning hot dogs and the midnight oil… I think of sitting in the living room with my first band, dissecting “Hangman Jury” from Permanent Vacation… Aerosmith is an institution… it’s a money-making machine… it’s as American as apple pie… it’s pure, unadulterated, Grade A, Five-Star, USDA Choice AND Select Rock n’ frikkin’ Roll.
So I was worried when I heard that the band was auditioning new lead singers back in January. I was concerned that they would become another Journey… let’s face it, Journey is now just a cover band of themselves. I would have hated to see Aerosmith go down that road.
My fears were wiped clean in February when Aerosmith announced their Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock Tour. This tour would stretch the summer and cover South America, Europe, and the States.
Well, the boys are now on the USA leg of the tour, and they just played Irvine, CA. I haven’t read any reviews of the show yet, but I’m sure they peeled some faces off. I mean, after 40 years, how can they NOT put on a good show?
After searching the web, I found what appears to have been the Irvine setlist:
Back in the Saddle
Love in an Elevator
Falling in Love (is Hard on the Knees)
Eat The Rich
Pink
Livin’ on the Edge
What It Takes
Mama Kin
Last Child
Cryin’
Lord Of The Thighs
Stop Messin’ Around (Fleetwood Mac cover)
I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing
Sweet Emotion
Baby, Please Don’t Go (Big Joe Williams cover)
Draw the Line
Encore:
Dream On
Walk This Way
Toys in the Attic
That’s a nice mix of songs. The encore songs must have killed. I’ve never been a huge fan of the studio recording of “Dream On,” but I’ve seen enough live performances (on video) to realize that the song truly comes alive in front of thousands of screaming fans.

I really love all the work you did on the site, it looks fantastic. Thank you for the Aerosmith demos, I have no idea where you get all this stuff at but it is fantastic.
Dude, loving the downloads! Thank you!
Sadly I see no MN date on the list. But that is one packed schedule. Good for them! They definitely are as American as apple pie.
OT a little (but not really)… what's all this business I'm hearing about Steven Tyler becoming a judge on American Idol?? I dunno about that one. Interesting.
Thank you! I gotta say that I love the look of the site as well! :-) And I got these Aerosmith demos from a music blog called Licorice Pizza. You can read about it in the post ;-P
Yeah, no MN date! Sorry. But that's ok because they'll be in Michigan…. which has nothing to do with MN but I thought I'd let you know.
And if Steven Tyler becomes an AI judge then I JUST might have to start watching it! I bet he'd be BRUTAL.
Big Aerosmith fan here but only saw them live x3. Thank you (and for the zip). Site looks great!
LOL well I I know where you got THIS at silly. You knew what I meant.
You've seen Aerosmith live 3 times? Which tours?
