Have you ever felt that a song came into your life at just the right moment? Have you gone around the day doing your thing, but somehow in the back of your mind you knew that your day wouldn’t be complete unless something happened… and that something turned out to be a particular song?
If you haven’t felt like that, then I envy you. It’s a tortuous feeling for me because I have no idea what will fulfill my day… I can listen to all of my favorite music, but they just don’t do it… so I go searching and searching until, by the grace of God or whatever you believe in, it comes to me. It is at that moment when I know that music is in my soul, and it is at that moment when I know that God hears every thought in my comparatively empty head.
Last night, that song for me was Dark Dark Dark‘s beautiful “Daydreaming” off their upcoming album, Wild Go. I can call “Daydreaming” a myriad of things… “haunting,” “sublime,” “permeating,” cinematic,” “picturesque…” and I’d probably wouldn’t be wrong with any of those words… but the thing that fascinates me is that all the words in the world wouldn’t be able to grab the feeling I had as I listened to the song. It’s peaceful yet intense… it soothes me yet twists me up inside until the final release… yet it’s exactly what I needed at that moment.
I guess it says something about what my day was like, huh?
Wild Go will be released on October 5th… I can’t wait to pick it up. If just this one song hits me like this, there’s no telling what an album of it will do.
I’d better buy a helmet.

Take a listen to “Daydreaming.” If I know you, and I think I probably don’t know you, but IF I know you, I think you’ll like it. And if you do like it, vote for them at NYC.TheDeliMagazine.com‘s Band of the Month poll. Sure, the month is almost over, but a few gazillion more votes can’t hurt.
