Barefoot Truth: Showcase Live (12-27-08)

A good friend of mine recommended this band to me the other day. I, being an amazing and altogether brilliant buddy, took the recommendation and was exceptionally pleased with what I heard. Barefoot Truth is the band, and their sound is as eclectic as a hot dog.

There are so many influences and elements to their music… a bit of folk, country, rock, reggae, even a bit of rap… the best description I can give is “just listen to it.”

Barefoot Truth seems to be doing well for themselves. According to their website, “‘All Good Reasons’, Barefoot Truth’s new single, captures the feeling of change that engulfs the band and with election-day just ahead, much of the country. Close to 5,000 people downloaded the song in the first four weeks of its release. With their music spreading rapidly, the group was asked to play the Obama campaign pre-debate rally near Hofstra University in New York. The band was even further honored as their set was sandwiched, on the same stage, between performances by Bruce Hornsby and folk legends Crosby & Nash.”

Not bad for a bunch of guys straight out of college.

This bootleg is from a live set they played at Showcase Live in Foxboro, MA last December… it’s a fun listen, so be prepared to do some smooth groovin’.

And man, that Rhodes sounds SCHWEEEET.
