TOMORROW IS SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!
There have been some songs that, for one reason or another, have become attached to sporting events. I’ve listed below some of the ones that I’m familiar with… they’re all classics. ALL of them (I stress the word “ALL“) should be played tomorrow, especially the first song.
I said, ESPECIALLY THE FIRST SONG.
It’d be interesting to find out how some of these songs became stadium standards. Who was the first to play Queen‘s “We Will Rock You,” or Gary Glitter‘s “Rock and Roll Part 2?” What sort of mad genius started this trend?
What I’d like for you to do is to answer this question. Yes, your report needs to be typed (double-spaced), and you will need at least five sources. MLA format is recommended, and make it about… oh… twelve pages long.
Please cite your sources correctly. One major pet peeve of mine is poor citations. If you’re not sure what the MLA format is, click here.
Yes, grammar and spelling will count. Presentation is pretty darn important as well… so make sure you line your report folder with, say… a couple of twenty Benjamins.
I expect this report to be completed by kickoff time on Sunday, so you’d best git movin’.

How about “Start Me Up” by TRS? You don’t have that on your list.
Sorry, I don’t do research, reports or MLA thingies on the weekends. Do the damn report yourself. Good Day!
You are gonna love this…
On “We Are The Champions”:
“Certainly it’s a relationship that could be, but I was thinking about football when I wrote it. I wanted a participation song, something that the fans could latch on to. It was aimed at the masses; I thought we’d see how they took it. It worked a treat. When we performed it at a private concert in London, the fans actually broke into a football chant between numbers. Of course, I’ve given it more theatrical subtlety than an ordinary football chant. You know me. I certainly wasn’t thinking about the press when I wrote it. I never think about the British music press these days. It was really meant to be offered the musicians the same as the fans. I suppose it could also be construed as my version of “I Did It My Way.” We have made it, and it certainly wasn’t easy. No bed of roses as the song says. And it’s still not easy.”
-Freddie Mercury (1978)[2]
(My comment: Being British, he meant European football, or soccer, that’s what they call it over there, but it’s good enough.)

I SO get an A+ for that. Don’t I?
ok, make that only an A. I messed up my citation at the end. It’s (1) on the page, not (2). Here’s the right one.
