First of all, did you all watch the We Are One – The Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial on HBO? Or even better, did any of you attend? Pretty hefty price tag for a party, if you ask me… but hey, I guess even Presidents gotta party.

And speaking of Springsteen he did a fine version of “The Rising.” That song has made a nice transition from it’s original 9/11 meaning…
I mention Bruce’s performance because he’s the topic of this post today. There were some wonderful flashbacks in history, some inspiring words spoken, and some truly wonderful performances by the likes of John Mellencamp, U2, Garth Brooks, Sasha Fierce Beyonce, James Taylor, John Legend, and more.
Now, on to some Bruce news…
It was first reported by our friends at Blogness on the Edge of Town, and has now been confirmed by XM Radio and BruceSpringsteen.net… Springsteen himself will be guest DJ’ing on SIRIUS XM’s E Street Radio.
Yes, Bruce The DJ.
Here are the details about when you can catch him on the air…
Bruce Springsteen sat down with Dave Marsh, SIRIUS XM host and music journalist, to play music hand-picked by Bruce from his personal record collection. Bruce will share how he discovered each song and what he likes about the music in his commentary. SIRIUS XM listeners will hear Bruce playing a variety of music ranging from folk songs to contemporary music including hip hop and progressive rock.
The first edition of the Bruce Springsteen guest deejay special will premiere on Monday, January 19 at 4 pm ET and will be rebroadcast on Tuesday, January 20 at 12 midnight and 8 am ET; Wednesday, January 21 at 11 am ET; Thursday, January 22 at 6 pm ET; Friday, January 23 at 4 pm ET; Saturday, January 24 at 12 midnight and 8 am ET; and Sunday, January 25 at 4 pm ET.
The second edition of Bruce’s guest deejay special will premiere on Monday, January 26 at 4 pm ET and will be rebroadcast on Tuesday, January 27 at 12 midnight and 8 am ET; Wednesday, January 28 at 11 am; Thursday, January 29 at 6 pm ET; Friday, January 30 at 4 pm ET; and Saturday, January 31 at 12 midnight and 8 am ET.
I don’t have XM Satellite Radio, BUT I am thinking of registering for their free trial, as it’s sure to be a good listen.
In honor of Bruce’s upcoming radio gig, here are a few radio-related songs. Enjoy!

I watched! Every second.
Bruce was great but who knew Garth Brooks was so good? Could have done without Sasha Fierce. Loved Stevie and Pink Houses … hmmm… that song sounded familiar ;-)
What a fabulous day it was. Going to sleep happy :)
I watched it. Loved seeing U2 up there for a couple songs, really enjoyed Garth getting everyone all riled up (reminded me of why I liked him so much back in the day – before his alter-ego Chris Gaines came about *weird*). I would have liked to have seen someone like Nicole C. Mullen (talk about a GORGEOUS voice) up there replacing Sasha, but she did ok, I guess.
Overall I thought it was a pretty cool program. What a thrill for Barack’s girls that had to have been, huh?
