Sherman’s all dressed up for Christmas as well… he couldn’t wait to get into his Santa costume and go around spreading holiday cheer to all the boys and girls of the world!

Anyhow, to celebrate AND thank you all at the same time, we here at TheFrontloader.com have decided to hold our first ever… (drum roll, please)… Contest Giveaway Contest! (CGC)
Yes, the CGC is specifically designed and geared towards YOU, the reader. What we have here is a game that will test to see ju-u-u-u-ust how much you’ve been paying attention here! You didn’t expect to be tested here, didja? ;-D
After much debate, Sherman and I have decided on the exact way the CGC will be administered. At first we were going to give the prize to the person who gives us the most money, but then we realized that, waitaminute… THAT won’t work because people will be fighting left and right over who’s gonna give us the most money… and we’re LOVERS here, NOT fighters… right?
So we’re going to play a game called “Can Ya Take A Gander At What That Song Is?” (CYTAGAWTSI)
I know, I know… some of you are saying, “Saaaayyyy… that sounds miiighty like ‘Name That Tune!’“
But it’s NOT “Name That Tune,” it’s CYTAGAWTSI! Never mind that the game is played the exact same way….. THIS game is f***in’ “Can Ya Take A Gander At What That Song Is!!!!!!”
HOW TO PLAY
Ok, sports fans… here’s how it works. Below you’ll find ten snippets of songs we’ve posted here on TheFrontloader.com. The songs can be from anywhere on the site… from any category… like Bootlegs, Rare Recordings, 80′s or Bust!, Bit o’ Covers, etc…. but we PROMISE you they’re somewhere on this site.
What you have to do is guess what song the snippet is from and tell us:
B) the artist
That’s it!
Just make a list from 1-10 with the song title and artist. Simple as that!
The great thing is that if you don’t recognize the snippet, you can rummage through the site and find the answer. Previews of all the songs are included in each article. Sweet, huh? Kind of like an “open book” test. Then you just post your answers as a comment and consider yourself entered! And don’t worry, we’re keeping the comments hidden, so no one will be able to see your answers.
**** VERY IMPORTANT – You MUST enter your email address when submitting your comment so that we can contact you if you win!!!! Your email address will NOT be published with your comment. Any comments without an email address will NOT be able to win, even if you get them all correct, so please make sure to do that!!!! And as much as we love boatloads of comments, just one entry per person please.

- GRAND PRIZE: ONE $25 AMAZON.COM GIFT CERTIFICATE (delivered via email)
Entries that have 7-10 correct answers will be thrown in Sherman’s Santa hat, and the winner will be drawn randomly. If there are multiple entries that score 100%, only those will be eligible for this prize, and the remaining entries with 7-9 correct answers will be eligible for the second prize drawing. If just ONE person gets 100%, that person automatically wins.
- SECOND PRIZE: ONE $15 AMAZON.COM GIFT CERTIFICATE (delivered via email)
Entries that have 1-6 correct answers (and those remaining from the 7-9 group as stated above) will be thrown in Sherman’s Santa hat, and the winner will be drawn randomly. Entries that fall in this category will not be eligible for the Grand Prize.
- BONUS PRIZE: ONE $10 AMAZON.COM GIFT CERTIFICATE (delivered via email)
Anyone who a) subscribes to get TheFrontloader.com delivered by email between today and December 17, 2008, or b) tweets about the contest on Twitter (we’re @thefrontloader on Twitter) will be thrown in Sherman’s Santa hat, and the winner will be drawn randomly. So if you didn’t win the Grand or Second Prize, you could win this one!!!!
**** MUCHO IMPORTANTE: If EVERY entry has a score of 100%, then the first name drawn will get the Grand Prize, and the second name drawn will get the Second Prize. The Bonus Prize drawing will remain the same.

Much as I like a contest, and Amazon, I am not even gonna try this one. I am so old, I actually remember watching Name That Tune, and I SUCKED! Even now, with, dare I say, a pretty decent knowledge of tunes, it takes a few lines of any song – even the ones I know backwards and forwards – for my brain to process what it’s hearing. Seriously! What IS that?! If you cover that in one of your classes, email me my diagnosis, will ya? It’s been driving me nuts for decades. I can name that tune in 55 notes…
